2004 Summer Institute for Teachers - Advance Registration
Our marquee professional development program for teachers, the Summer Institute is an intensive five-day experience focused on helping teachers to gain the confidence and qualifications needed to take their students outdoors, and to explore for themselves the value and potential of experiential learning in a natural setting. Our most recent Institute (held in August 2003) took participants to Ontario's beautiful French River area for a 4-day canoe trip, and the opportunity to achieve ORCA Canoe Tripping Level II certification. Programming highlights included an introduction to the rich history of the Dokis First Nation, and the impact of the fur trade on this historic region.
The 2004 Summer Institute promises to be equally exciting, and is open to advance registration at a cost of $495.00 plus applicable taxes. Space is limited and some experience is required for participants seeking ORCA Certification. Please contact Bryan Poirier for additional details at or , or .
