Canoe Primary School
Paddle-to-the-Sea puppet

Serving as the curricular foundation for all other museum offerings, these 90-minute interdisciplinary programs provide students from Kindergarten to Grade 3 with an experiential orientation and introduction to the canoe in Canadian cultures, specific to their chosen area of study.
Cost is $5 per student.
Paddle to the Sea: An engaging geographic/environmental introduction for primary students to birch bark canoes and the Great Lakes Region, with Paddle-to-the-Sea, the intrepid little character from Holling Clancy Holling's book and Bill Mason's award winning film, as host and guide.
The Perfect Machine: This science- and technology-oriented core experience connects students to the richness and diversity of designs and bulidng materials in the Museum collection. Students will explore the principles of buoyancy and boat design in their quest to come up with the perfect canoe.
