Journeys of Discovery: Heritage Christmas in the Kawarthas
Traditional winter garb at Lang Pioneer Village
|
Begin your weekend with a delicious dinner served with a view of the scenic Rice Lake winter landscape. Spend the evening curled up by the fire listening to readings about early Canada. Your journey through the Kawarthas includes hands on and behind the scenes visits.
Visit the Canadian Canoe Museum, where the kids can take part in a holiday craft workshop while Mum and Dad visit the Museum Store. After lunch, head out to Lockside Trading Company, the original 1850's home of the Stoney Lake Navigation Company, situated on the Trent Severn Waterway at Young's Point. Enjoy hot apple cider while you browse around the wonderfully decorated, 5,000 sq ft country store.
